Nairobi gears up for Eid Family Fun Day
In Summary

Organizers say the event is more than just entertainment; it is a celebration of community, faith, and family togetherness.

Families in Nairobi are gearing up for the Eid Family Fun Day, a celebration marking the end of Ramadan. The event promises a day of games, food, and entertainment for all ages at MOW Sports Club, South C, Nairobi on March 20, 2026.

Organizers expect around 2,000 attendees, emphasizing community, halal cuisine, and outdoor family-friendly experiences.

Organizers say the event is more than just entertainment; it is a celebration of community, faith, and family togetherness.

“Our community places great value on spending time together, and Ramadan has been a time of spiritual reflection and unity. Now it is a moment to celebrate with our loved ones,” said one of the event coordinators.

The festival promises an outdoor experience for attendees, featuring green spaces where children can play and run freely.

Activities lined up include ring toss, tic-tac-toe, electric train rides, merry-go-rounds, quad bikes, face painting, the house of clay, giant castles, wall climbers, rock climbers, trampolines, and jenga.

“This event is about creating memorable experiences for families. Children will have fun in a safe environment while parents can relax in designated chill zones,” the organizer said. “We have made sure everyone’s needs are catered for, with ample space and entertainment suitable for all ages.”

Food is a central part of the celebrations, reflecting cultural traditions where gatherings revolve around shared meals.

A dedicated halal zone will ensure that all food served meets dietary requirements, allowing attendees to enjoy snacks, beverages, and meals safely.

The organizers emphasized that the festival will serve as a celebration of both religious and cultural values.

Tickets are priced at Sh600 for children and Sh200 for adults, with organizers expecting approximately 2,000 attendees.

“We want this to be a day that people remember, not just for the games, but for the sense of community, family, and celebration,” the organizer added.

The festival also aims to foster interaction and networking among local businesses and sponsors. A number of commercial partners will be on-site to engage with families and share information about products and services, blending entertainment with community engagement.

Health and safety have been prioritized, with event management putting in place measures to ensure the well-being of all participants.

“Children’s safety is paramount, and all activities have been designed with supervision and secure play areas. Parents can enjoy their time knowing that the environment is safe for their children,” the organizer said.

The Eid Family Fun Day comes after a month of spiritual reflection, fasting, and communal worship. It is intended not only as a celebration of religious observance but also as a cultural gathering where diverse communities can participate in the festivities.

In addition to entertainment, the festival will feature relaxation spaces for adults to enjoy beverages like tea, coffee, chocolate, and soft drinks while keeping an eye on their children. The event seeks to combine fun, food, faith, and community into a single, enjoyable experience.

Organizers encourage families, friends, and community members to attend, stressing that the day is for everyone, not only for Muslims observing Eid.

The goal is to foster inclusivity and shared enjoyment, with a range of activities ensuring something for everyone.

With the festival scheduled to take place in an open field, the focus on outdoor activities and green spaces aligns with the organizers’ vision of reconnecting communities with nature and with each other.

By combining fun, food, and family time, the Eid Family Fun Day is poised to be one of Nairobi’s largest post-Ramadan celebrations, offering a meaningful and entertaining way to conclude the holy month.
